Dadabajee: The Lost Legacy is a speculative short story about a spectral encounter between Nasim and his dadabajee (father’s father), which sees the two collaboratively play through the PlayStation 4 video game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
The short story was written as an entry to the 2022 SBS Emerging Writers’ Competition, judged by Tara June Winch and Behrouz Boochani. Dadabajee: The Lost Legacy was later published by Hardie Grant in the anthology collection Between Two Worlds.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy follows Indian-Australian Chloe Frazer and South African Nadine Ross as they explore the Western Ghats mountain ranges of India for a lost artifact.
Dadabajee: The Lost Legacy reflects on parallels between the game’s narrative and the writer’s familial history, whose Gujarati family had migrated to South Africa in the 1800s.
