BARS MADE FLESH is a collection of four rap tracks made in response to Paul Yore’s WORDS MADE FLESH exhibition, presented at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne from 23 September to 20 November in 2022.
It was published alongside responses to the exhibition from Michaela Bear, Ange Crawford, Mig Dann, Rachel Keir-Smith, Carmen-Sibha Keiso, Shari Kocher, Josephine Mead, Sofia Stavrou, Denise Thwaites as part of ACCA’s experimental writing program Writing in the Expanded Field IV: Touching Feeling Writing, edited and led by Lucinda Strahan.
All the responses were performed live in the exhibition on 26 October 2022.
Parts of BARS MADE FLESH appear in the program’s video produced by Sofie McClure and Rebecca Bracewell.
BARS MADE FLESH was the first collaboration between Nasim Patel and Melbourne-based music producer Tom Benter, who produced all four tracks that appeared as a part of the publication.
