Tell Distance (2025)

Tell Distance is a performance piece that intersects choreography and video to glitch dominant narratives of place, offering the excavation of subversive meanings.

The work draws from Nasim’s Honours research at UNSW, studying how colonial narratives impose perspectives of people and place, whilst themselves containing evidence that contradict such impositions.

Tell Distance was first presented at Balmain Town Hall as part of side.step, a new initiative by artist Ella Watson-Heath supported by Critical Path & Inner West Council.

An extended version of Tell Distance was later presented at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists as part of In The Works: Storyworlds, a program curated by Martin del Amo and Jazz Money.
